365:Day 265 ~ Paying It Forward...

As some of you know, our pup, Tally, used to be quite the little escape artist back in the day!  And there were several occasions that she got out of our backyard {one time for TWO WHOLE DAYS} and was rescued by nice families.  Luckily, we always got her back.  I remember being so grateful that people would stop and take in our sweet dog for us!  So, if we see a dog wandering the neighborhood {or anywhere, for that matter}, we most definitely rescue it, return it to it's owner, and pay it forward!

This morning, Bill and I were in the middle of a convo and something out the window caught his eye.  Strolling up our street were two large dogs that we didn't recognize.  So, out my studly hubs ran to come to the aid of the two dogs.  A neighbor joined in and they managed to get them wrangled up, but only one was willing to go into our backyard.  The other one took off.  This sweet light brown puppy was pretty scared of us, but Bill managed to win her over.  And when he did, he noticed that she didn't have an ID tag, only a rabies tag.  BUT, the rabies tag had the name of her vet and her rabies number.

So we made a call, and they were able to locate the owner.  Turns out that she's a very cute, 7 month old, Border Collie/German Shepard mix that was rescued from a nearby shelter!  She made it pretty far...her neighborhood is about 1/2 a mile up the road!  And you wanna know her name?  Carly.  Is that fate or what?!  And the even better news is that the dog who ran off was Carly's brother.  He managed to find his way back home, so both dogs were fine!  I'm so glad that we've been able to pay it forward in this department on several occasions!  Way to go to my hunky husband for coming to Carly's rescue!

P.S.  Please try to ignore my badly scratched back door {by our doggies} and only pay attention to Carly's cute face!  :)
