I’ve always been inconsistent about giving our girls vitamins. I mean SUPER inconsistent. For some reason, I seem to always forget! But at Macy’s 8 year check-up on Tuesday, our doctor told me that most people – adults and children {myself included} – are vitamin D deficient. We all get vitamin D from the sun. Since we walk around fully clothed or covered in sunscreen, we don't get enough vitamin D daily. I asked about milk, and he said that we'd have to drink an entire gallon of milk PER DAY in order to get enough vitamin D, which wouldn't be healthy for other reasons!
Then, he told me that not having enough vitamin D is now being linked to more than just bone health. He said that people who are deficient can be more prone to breast cancer, depression, and MS. He also said that having enough vitamin D in your body just actually makes you feel better on a daily basis.
Well. That’s all I needed to hear to be consistent about my girls taking a vitamin every day! While I was grocery shopping today, I picked up some new vitamins for the girls…and they have a new permanent home on our island so that I won’t forget to make sure they take them! Now, I just need to work on vitamins for the adults in this house!

it is funny because I used to forget when we first started vitamins years ago, but Ashton liked them so much that she always reminds me and now so does Landry.
I keep them in the cabinet right by the sippy cups so when I get them their milk in the morning, I see them!
